Dear Hassan and Fundi and all Committee members.
I am writing on behalf of the baraza members about how happy we were that we attended a well organised reunion. The food especially ugari, was auhentic, the entertainment was authentic and Utho Yaro took us years back during our days in the Paradise on earth. The book, "makumbusho" has brought back lots of memories of our past. It will provide us stories for our grandchildren who will learn more about Zanzibar. The continuous powerpoint presentation brought back memories of Unguja and Pemba, sun-ripened madafu, shoki shoki, doryani, embe, matufaa-my mouth is watering. Thanks also for reserving alcohol-free tables. We were able to meet our old friends whom we had not seen for decades and it was indeed a great reunion. We also made some new friends. We w ished it had continued for another day, but as the saying goes, 'all good things must come to an end' and the 2009 Reunion of Zanzibaris ended with a bang at the picnic. The venues selected were quite comfortable and adequate. The picnic was very relaxed event which gave us ample time to reconnect, recall and relax. The entertainment was excellent. The food was plentiful and tasty. We missed Ali Bhajiya though maybe he had gone to Hadhramout. All in all, it was a very well organised and we commend you all for your hard work. Thank you once again for a memorable 2009 Zanzibari Reunion in Toronto. We are looking forward to a next one. Sheny Dungersi on behalf of the Baraza members. Hassan originally when you phone me to attend this function I was hesitant. For what I have experienced , nothing would match. With me there were 20 people from the baraza including their failies. Thanks. We hold the Zanzibar Baraza on Daily basis at the complex
